‘Wylie Wrestling News’
Oct. 5th- Oct. 10th Edition

  • Cooler weather: Fall and wrestling season are just around the bend, with the cooler weather I want to remind everyone of our athletic dress code. Gray, maroon, white, and black sweats (shorts and t-shirts) are appropriate. Please try not to have logos, or trim that are other colors. This is wrestling, not a fashion show. Buy the cheapest brands possible; wrestling gear tears, gets soaked with sweat, and bled on frequently.
  • New six weeks grading period: Regardless of how you did the first grading period, now it is a fresh six weeks. Student-athletes who made A’s and B’s continue the good work. Student-athletes who did not make A’s and B’s need to take advantage of all the opportunities they have to increase their performance: individual or mentor tutoring during study hall, SOAR tutorials (offered daily), Thursday night school, after school teacher tutorials. Wrestling eligibility is determined in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th six weeks grading periods.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parents please make an appointment (with your son teacher/s) in the area/s your son’s grade can improve. Teachers at WHS are excited to talk to you concerning your son, and how they can succeed in their class. These conferences will be held Thursday the 8th from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
  • SAT testing: This Saturday is the national test date for the SAT college entrance examination. If you are taking the test, please go to bed early, set two alarms, eat breakfast, and allow for plenty of time to get to your test center (nothing worse than being stressed before the test even starts).
